n&j europe adventure

So we have pretty much planned out our whole europe adventure in, 50 days! It looks something like this, the three of them (Jaylene, Braden, Jodi) fly into rome on august 9th, and i will be waiting there for them, and then i will hug Jaylene for 15 minutes and maybe give her a kiss, and after that welcome Braden and Jodi to my city of Rome.

then we are there for a couple of nights and take the first of many trains up to florence, where we will only be for two nights and then we go north to Lake Como, to visit my heritage a bit. After the beautiful Lake Como we start the long journey to paris through switzerland, then we have a week in paris, with our own little apartment for the four of us, it shall be quiet fun. We will travel around france a little bit going out to the coast to normandy, and then to the Palace of versailles, and then going to DISNEYLAND PARIS, yup i’m a tad excited about that one. hehe. after this amazing week in paris we jump on another train to the town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in south germany, in bavaria. Normal a ski town we will be there in the summer though so we can go hiking maybe mountain biking, there is so many options to choose from. after our outdoors adventures in Germany we head to Geniva Switzerland for one night, then onward to Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland for a little getaway before heading back to school for…well i guess both of us.

that about sums up our adventure as we know it, some thigns could change i guess, but we shall see…

life.

i think our life is rather absurd right now (i won’t say crazy cause i say that all the time and it is a bit over used : ) anyways currently Jaylene is staying at my house in Lake Stevens, and she has met pretty much all of my family and close friends so far, and i’m not there. hehe

we have never had a normal dating relationship, and this just adds to the uniqueness of our dating life. I have to say though that i am very happy that she got the opportunity to meet my family and everyone and i really cant wait to meet her family in december, well her brother and Jodi in 50 days. I know 50 days it is coming up so fast when we will be in europe together, but i shall tell you a bit more about that later, in another post.

Life, Love, & Happiness

Ii do think an update might be in order, i (nate) curently find myself in israel, for another 5 weeks or so, and jaylene finds herself in caldwell idaho, for a couple more days as she continues on with the Act Here. Love Now. tour up the west coast.

And yet even as we are seperated by who knows how many miles we still find ways to fall even more in love with each other every day. wether it be throw messages and words we send to each other, gifts threw dropbox, or just spending hours getting to talk to each other, and talk about our life’s and future together. Yes, it is hard sometimes being separated this long, about six months now, we are going to make it threw, we have huge amounts of hope for Us. And we have already decide we never want to be abart this long again, and i think we can do it, after this crazy journey of track, i would be only be two hours away from her in Vancouver, and i think i can make that drive often to say the least. 🙂

The Picture Pretty Much says it all.

and now across the Atlantic.

Tonight, very late, as in 1:30am Sao Paulo time nate will get on a plane to fly directly to Johannesburg, South Africa.  This flight is amazingly direct so he is rather blessed with that and that also means that i only have one flight number i need to remember in order to track his travel.  (225 if you wanted to know)  We are both stepping into a bit of an unknown on this one for us as we are not sure at all what our communication is going to look like during his time there.  However we both have a growing peace about this time and so that has really been a wonderful thing that God has given us.  We prayed for each other tonight and that was great as always and the thing that keeps on coming back to us to pray for is just that God’s grace would pour out over us.  The lyrics of John Mark Mcmillan’s song, How He Loves Us where it says,

“We are His portion and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes,
If grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking.”

Coming to understand this truth more is what really helps bring in rest and peace for both of our hearts.  So yeah, as we go forth into these next 47 days of South Africa we get to learn so much more about that.

[also, as a note, it is just 127 days until we are with each other again in rome!  and that is just an amazing kind of fact.  : ) ]

Moments to Last a Lifetime.

I love the little moments in life, you really have to treasure each and everyone.

Today is the first of the month, and me and Jaylene have had a tradition to get the new Sleeping at Last Ep released every month and then share it with each other. And today we decided to skype and listen it to it together for the first time, and it was a beautiful moment with swelling  music in our ears with lyrics talking about love, and we could not help but have a huge smile on our faces and just gaze into each others eyes, and fall more in love with each other.

This was just such a  good moment as Jaylene is in vancouver and i leave for South Africa on Tuesday for 6 weeks.

twenty.

Today i turned 20 years old, once again i am the same age as my love jaylene.

This morning a most amazing package came to my door, on a sunday, weird i know. But we had both been praying that this package (from Jaylene) would get here before my birthday, and God got it here on the very morning of my birthday. God is Good. It was an most amazing package to, full of love, inside jokes and Creativity.

I wanted to give you a glimpse into this Wonderful gift, true you wont understand some of it and that is ok. And also i really want to show the world that i am in love with such a creative woman, its it truley amazing.

1. Sitting on top of the whole surprise was this amazingly knitted yellow envelope, with a Note to me inside. : )

2. A Guide book to Paris where we will be going to in 4 months and about 5 days or so, and she went through and wrote through out the whole book little notes for me.

3. Little wooden statues of us : )

4. An amazing painting done by jaylene, it is so amazing i will surely keep it forever and ever. Incorperated into it is little aspects of us, India, Kona, Stars, our Wall.

5. Real Fruit Gummies. Camrose -> To Kona. Kona -> Sao Paulo.

6. Yarn & Knitting Needles, because i am going to learn how to knit. : )

7. Hearts from You & Me Dinner. (this was a fundraiser dinner Jaylene and her girl did to raise money for there book, and i really wanted to be there to take her to it. so jaylene sewed a bunch of these little hearts for each couple that signed up and they used them as place holders at the tables.)

8.Nate’s Birthday Book. This was my favorite by far, a book of the top 10 memories or moments so far in our relationship. all hand made by Jaylene.

9. Sleeping At Last Yearbook shirt. So cool you all know our love of this band, there is a whole tab devoted to them.

10. Super glue & Electircal Tape. True i did ask for these because they come in so handy when traveling.

11. 2 White Shirts. I like having clean clothes. 🙂

12. Star Fruit This wasn’t in the package, but it was given to me from my lovely track mates.

There you have, the content of one of my favorite gifts i have ever been given. that god brought at jsut the right time.

I Guess Now It’s Official…

The other night Jaylene and her brother Braden got their flights to come visit me in Europe!

this is very exciting because it’s real now it is not just a thought or hope in our minds, She is coming to see me in rome in august. This has been quite the process of getting the ticket, Jaylene has been looking at these flights for six months now, since october, and now she was finaly able to purchase them! I am so excited for this, just saying. Oh

and there could be a couple more people to with us, we shall see what happens.

Europe Our Adventure:

So our adventures in europe will take us to three diffrent countries, Italy, France, and Switzerland. I (Nate) will be ending the Biblical core corse in Rome, Italy and Jaylene and braden will be meeting me there. We will be there for a couple of days, and then we start out journey up to Paris, France where we will be for one week. Along the way we could stop in the countryside for a bit or other towns along the train route,  Braden has mentioned that he wants to stay in a castle for one night, so we will most likley do that. And after our amazing time in paris, I have to be back in Burtigny, Switzerland for the start of the humanities and Science corse. Braden leaves a couple days before Jaylene, so she will be there in switzerland with me for a couple of days during class. That is what our adventure looks like we know a couple more details, but not much yet.

An Update of sorts….

Well we have not updated you guys in a while on our lives, but we are both alive and mostly healthy. Jaylene is back at home now in Camrose, Alberta with her family for a couple of weeks until she goes down to California to meet back up with her girls to start the tour for their book.  The book is called Act Here. Love Now. and is a collection of stories, reflection and photos from their journey around the world the purpose of which is to inspire people to seemingly small actions within their communities, cities, and the world.  More info on it, as well as an opportunity to pre-order, can be found on the website at the link below…

I am in brazil still for 20 more days, finishing off the Photography Core corse. Then i move onto South Africa for 6 weeks. You can see some of the pictures i have taken throughout my time here in brazil over here.
